The Florida Head Start Association is the membership organization of Head Start grantees in the state of Florida. The Association provides leadership in the:
(1) provision of high-quality, comprehensive services to pregnant women, children birth to school age and their families;
(2) design and delivery of training for early education and care personnel; and
(3) development of policies and service delivery systems that address the needs of low income families with young children.
As the statewide voice for Head Start programs, we strive to support the programs, legislation, research, and professional opportunities that build and strengthen children's early education and care, and the well being of our Head Start families physically, emotionally, and socially.
To fulfill our mission, we:

Advocate for Head Start programs throughout the state of Florida, as well as nationally

Provide training and technical assistance to guide the personal and professional growth of Head Start administrators, staff, parents and friends

Gather, analyze, and share statewide research for Head Start programs to use as a tool for continuous improvement within Florida's Head Start community

Diligently work toward developing the leaders of tomorrow who will continue to promote excellence in all Head Start service delivery efforts
Membership of the Association is open to representatives of the public and private sectors who, by virtue of their positions, interests, experience and training can contribute to the purpose of the Association.Three representatives from each membership group (Directors, Staff, Parents and Friends) are elected to the Board of Directors. Members of the Board of Directors serve a three year term.
